I've been away from the blog for the more than a week. It's not as though I'm short of things to write about; it's more a question of whether such things have a place here, at Square Sunshine.
In some ways, I'm reminded of an old Andy Capp cartoon. Andy is pictured walking past Flo, on his way to the garden shed. Consequently, Flo is wearing a puzzled expression. A short while passes, and Andy returns. "I couldn't decide where to start, so I didn't," he said. Flo stares out at the reader, with a familiar look of resignation.
Anyway, I've been busy, in spite of finding all too easy to not publish a post. A drive down to Somerset for lunch with a dear friend, a quest to uncover clues on a Winnie the Pooh trail, with three excited grandchildren, and enjoying huge ice-creams in the shade with nearest and dearest.
And, I've started to make some real headway on a writing project, that may one day be called a novel. I'm discovering that words, like our surrounding countryside scenes, present themselves in all their glory when allowed to expand and grow beyond the man-made fences.
